Events surrounding Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday are taking place on Sunday 11th November to remember those fallen during service.
Armistice Day will be commemorated by a short parade and two-minutes silence at 11am by the WWI Memorial near to the Post Office. A second parade to mark Remembrance Sunday will take place in the afternoon at 2pm, organised by the Royal British Legion. The parade will start at Pocklington School (Railway Street/West Green) and will take in the town’s war memorials where wreath laying will take place at both.
The parade will end at 3pm, with a church service at All Saints Church.
Pocklington Town Council is asking for volunteers to help marshal the five road closure points during the parade from 2pm. Anyone able to help are urged to contact the Town Clerk on 01759 304851 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
