Every Tuesday there is a market in Pocklington right in the heart of the town on Marketplace. Find an array of fresh food, clothing, local produce, plants and more. Visiting By Public Transport
There are plenty of ways to visit Pocklington. Although there is no train station in Pocklington, there are regular bus services to and from York Train Station, whilst other regular services take you to and from Hull and the East Coast of Yorkshire.
York to Pocklington – X46 (every 30 minutes from York City Centre and York Train Station)
Hull to Pocklington – X46 (every 30 minute from Hull Interchange)
Walking in the area
Fancy a walk? The Yorkshire Wolds Way is a walking route that passes near to Pocklington and is one of the best ways of viewing the rolling chalk landscape that the Wolds has to offer. At just under 80 miles (129 km), Pocklington is the perfect place to stop and have a rest, a quick shop and a warming cup of tea. There are several sections of the walk including: –
Hessle to South Cave – 13 miles (21 km)
South Cave to Market Weighton or Goodmanham – 12 miles (19 km)
Market Weighton or Goodmanham to Millington – 8½ miles (13.5 km)
Millington to Thixendale – 12 miles (19 km)
Thixendale to Sherburn – 19 miles (30 km)
Sherburn to Filey – 17 miles (28 km)
