In line with NHS initiatives to extend GP hours of service, we offer a limited number of routine appointments on Saturday mornings.  The purpose of these appointments is for patients who have genuine difficulty leaving work during the week to have more opportunity to see a doctor routinely in a standard 10 minute consultation.  Please note that appointments for insurance/employment/lighter life medicals etc are not available on Saturday mornings.  Please see the “appointments” section for further details.  Patients will need to pre-book these appointments in advance of the Saturday morning.

In order to meet the aims of these Saturday surgeries, patients requiring urgent appointments or home visits will still be required to contact the out of hours’ service by telephoning 111.   (Please see our Out of Hours page for further information on the new NHS 111 out of hours service.)

As the funding available to provide these surgeries is limited, there will be no Nurse led clinics available on Saturdays.

Please note that if non-repeat medicines are required urgently out of hours, then the Out of Hours service should be contacted on 111.

Not many towns the size of Pocklington have a multi-purpose arts centre. Ours has first class facilities for showing major films, a fully equipped 200 seat theatre for live music and drama – both professional and amateur, and a studio which doubles as an exhibition space.

The building has a bar and catering facilities, a lift, disabled access and sound loop. This means it can also provide excellent facilities for business conferences. We have tourist information on display, and some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby.

where are we…

We are situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire, just 10 miles east of the Roman and Viking city of York. On the A1079 (either from York to Hull, or Hull to York, there are three sign posts for Pocklinton, any will do – they all bring you to the centre of Pocklington where the Pocklington Arts Centre is situated.
